Fill In
App | UX | UI
My project displays an innovative mobile app, Fill In, which I have developed for substitute teachers in the educational school system in Israel.
The app includes the required information and tools to enable the teachers to manage their work in an organized, friendly user and productive fashion.

The Problem
In most cases, substitute teachers work on a temporary basis, like academic or retired teachers, and have limited access to school resources and staff.
Usually, a sub-teacher needs to access, in a very short time, relevant information such as class location, students’ name list, educational lesson plans and instructions. In addition, once the class is over, he/she needs to report to the educator regarding student attendance, performance reports, handwritten task submissions and behavioral problems, if there were any.

User Research
My initial idea to develop this app came from my personal experience as a sub-teacher, experience that was quite challenging. I faced a problem and wanted to find a new way to deal with it in future cases.
In order to achieve my goal I interviewed several sub-teachers to understand better their needs and requirements for a mobile app that will help them to do their job. I asked them about the major problems they are facing in their work, and what information they would like to have in such an app

The Solution
Developing an online pedagogical, friendly user, management system for the substitution area at schools. Fill In app provides a vast variety of tools and content, enabling a substitute teacher in his/her day to day work, and an effective information management and documentation secured system.

User Scenario
One of the User Scenarios is for the substitute teacher, Dekel, to use the app for teaching a lesson.

01
Alert
Fill In app sends to Dekel, precisely at 7:00 AM, the following alert: “Today’s schedule is up to date.”

02
Registration & log In
The registration menu is simple and requires that the user only fill in their email and a password of their choice.

03
Schedule
Upon arriving to the classroom, Dekel accesses the relevant lesson page on the app: “Literature - 7th Grade.”

04
Lesson Page
The lesson page includes all the relevant information that Dekel needs to know.

05
Name List
By pressing the name list, Dekel accesses the name list page, so she can check attendance.

06
Task
By pressing Task button, Dekel gets detailed instructions for the lesson plan and student tasks.

07
Report
After the lesson ends, Dekel fills a report regarding students’ performance and behavior.
